2025 K Cosmetic August News Letter ◎ Summer’s Sweetest Beauty Trend: The Rise of Jam Lips ◎ Evoking the warmth of sun-drenched orchards and seasonal fruits like apricots, strawberries, and peaches, jam lipshave emerged as this summer’s most delectable beauty trend. Inspired by the glossy, stained look of ripe fruit, jam lips offer the perfect balance—fresh, juicy color with a radiant, just-bitten sheen. Popularized on the Spring 2025 runways by designers like Peter Do and Rachel Comey, jam lips blend the soft diffusion of blurred lips with the luscious gloss finishes reminiscent of early-2000s beauty. The technique is simple: start with a matte lip tint applied to the center of the lips, gently diffused outward with the fingertip, and topped with a layer of gloss for a subtle, high-shine effect. For a quicker take, a single swipe of highly pigmented lip gloss in a berry or peachy hue achieves a similar glowing result. Notably, Hailey Bieber’s brand Rhode has embraced this trend with the launch of its Peptide Lip Tint in PBJ—a deep raspberry shade ideal for layering with other rich, glossy formulas like Pocket Blush Purple Berry or Violette FR’s Lip Nectar. Whether sheer or saturated, jam lips promise a juicy, fruit-toned finish with a playful nod to summertime indulgence(VOGUE, 2025. 15). ◎ Essential Summer 2025 Nail Trends ◎ Curated Elegance for the Season Ahead As summer approaches, bold, radiant nail styles are taking center stage. It’s effortless, effective, and requires minimal products. Here’s how to master it in four simple steps: Step 1: Prep Exfoliate dry lips using a gentle scrub, then apply a moisturizing balm. For best results, leave the balm on briefly as a hydrating mask before proceeding. Step 2: Blur the Edges Skip the sharp outlines—use a dab of concealer or foundation to soften the lip edges. Blend it with your finger for a natural, diffused effect. This step neutralizes the natural lip line, helping the color fade seamlessly. Step 3: Tint the Center Apply a drop of lip tint or lightly pigmented balm (think cherry, raspberry, or guava hues) to the center of your top and bottom lips. Blend outward with your finger, building subtle intensity while keeping the perimeter soft and faded. Step 4: Optional Seal To enhance longevity, lightly dab loose powder or powder blush in the center. A dab of gloss can be added, but only at the center, preserving the blurred effect while subtly boosting dimension(VOGUE, 2025. 7. 1). ◎ Japanese Consumers’ Top Summer Skincare Concern: UV Rays ◎ During the summer, the top skin concern among Japanese consumers is ultraviolet (UV) rays.
